Rescue 116 crash: Search operation for missing crew members will resume this weekend

A major search operation for the missing crew members of the doomed Rescue 116 craft will get underway this weekend.

Captain Dara Fitzpatrick and pilot Captain Mark Duffy were found shortly after the helicopter went down, but crew members Paul Ormsby and Ciarán Smith remain missing.

Elements from the RNLI, Coast Guard, and the LÉ Ciara ship will assist in the operation.

Rescue 116 crashed into the sea in rough weather last week. Investigators are working on the theory that the tail rotor struck rocks near Blackrock Lighthouse shortly before the crash.
