Rescue services have this afternoon retrieved a woman’s body from the water near the Cliffs of Moher, Co. Clare.
A group of hikers reportedly found a rucksack at the top of one of the cliffs, then spotted a body down in the water below.
A rescue boat was launched, and the woman’s body was soon brought ashore. It is understood that Gardai were able to identify the person after searching the abandoned rucksack.
Sources said the body belongs to a non-Irish national female in her 20s.
