Rescue workers have been working for almost three weeks to locate and remove the wreckage of Rescue 116.

The helicopter was finally taken from the water this evening and placed on board the Irish Lights vessel named “The Granuaile”.

Tomorrow will see the third week anniversary of when Rescue 116 crashed into Blackrock island, County Mayo.

Unfortunately rescue workers have confirmed that two of the crew are still missing after they found Mark Duffy in the wreckage and Dara Fitzpatrick on the first day of the tragedy.
