It may have only just been last week when we told you the remarkable story of how a homeless man by the name of Mark showed his kindhearted nature by helping a young woman who was stranded more than 50 miles from home.

Well now it seems the truly amazing story is not over as the woman at the centre of it all has gone the extra mile in return and has raised nearly £10,000 to say thank you.

The young woman Nicole Sedgebeer captured the worlds hearts with her amazing story which praised the efforts of the homeless gentleman’s actions. The recent showing of good will comes after Nicole missed her last train home from London to Milton Keynes after a night out with friends on Thursday March 3 and found the gates of Euston station locked. However when she thought all was lost the homeless man named Mark came to her rescue and brought her to an all-night cafe where she could stay safe until the first train the next morning.

Although Mark’s commendable actions didn’t stop there however as he went a step further by stating he would return at 5am to walk her to the station. The man’s kind actions prompted Nicole to share her experience on Facebook in a post that has since gone viral, the grateful young woman said: “Me being a typical human being I didn’t believe he would come back.” But he did: “Not only did he turn up but he had to get a bus to come get me. This man who I probably would of avoided eye contact with if he asked for spare change, completely changed such a negative event into the most eye opening event in my life.”

Truly bowled over by Mark’s kindness, a thankful Nicole decided to set up a crowdfunding JUSTGIVING page to raise £8,000 for Mark and to help other homeless people in the same area.

A grateful Nicole wrote: “Mark embodies the best of humanity. He went out of his way to help me, a complete stranger, when the reality of his situation is that people walk past him every day without offering him help. Mark you are one special man, I will never look down on a homeless person again and so want to do something to help Mark and all the other homeless people around Euston.”

Since the page was setup the NIcole managed raise close to £10,000, with three weeks remaining.

What a story. Just goes to show there are people out there who are willing to help others in their hour of need.
