Rickshaw owners face an anxious wait this morning as the Minister for Transport Shane Ross is set to present a new draft legislation to the Dáil later today.
The new legislation which will monitor the use of the popular mode transport in the city comes after a number of concerns were made over their safety and involvement in criminal activities.
It is expected that Mr Ross will present a draft legislation which will outline that all rickshaws in the capital will have to be insured.
The new draft will also see a ban being implemented on motorised rickshaws, whilst a stricter registration process will enacted for those operating peddle rickshaws.
It is reported that all rickshaw owners will have to undergo a propper vetting process before they obtain an operating licence.
