Rift deepens within Labour, as Alan Kelly fails to show up during leadership announcement

The tattered remains of the Labour party are this evening falling apart at the seams, after Alan Kelly’s very public snubbing of the new party leadership celebrations today.

Alan Kelly, 41, must this evening be feeling the pain of being shunned by all his party colleagues, who did not back him to become new party leader.

In response, Mr. Kelly did not turn up during the celebrations that saw Brendan Howlin clinch the title pretty much by default.

There have been rumours coming out from party ranks that Mr. Kelly, already bitter that his beloved Irish Water may soon cease to exist, may even leave the party altogether, after his calamitous leadership failure.
