The cyclists who took part in the annual Ring of Kerry cycle charity event back in July have raised more than €1.5m for charity.
It is thought that the amount is a record for the event, which is in its 31st year. Nine charities will share money, which include the Kerry Hospice Foundation, Pieta House and the Irish Red Cross.
An announcement about the total figure raised was made last night at a function in Killarney, which was attended by hundreds of the cyclists who completed the 180km route.
