A rock concert scheduled to take place in Rotterdam earlier this evening was officially cancelled after Dutch police received a tip-off from Spanish police alerting them to a possible terror threat in the city.
According to the city’s mayor police decided to cancel the concert by American rock group Allah-Las because of a major threat to security at the venue.
It is reported that police authorities found a small van with Spanish licence plates that contained a number of gas bottles near the venue shortly before the concert was due to begin.
Local media say the driver who is believed to be a Spanish national was detained.
However police did say it is not yet clear whether the terror threat and the van were connected.
