It’s understood that RTE are more than likely going to pull their RTE News Now channel that broadcasts the national broadcaster on a 24-hour basis.
The station is live on channel 578 on Sky and also is available on other satellite services too.
The financial situation of RTE is said to be under immense pressure with a restructuring plan currently being undertaken.
RTE now plan to focus more on their online output as it’s far more cost effective than their current model.
