Ryanair flight intercepted by fighter jets after communications issue

Several fighter jets were scrambled on Saturday to intercept a Ryanair flight after a communications equipment failure.

Flight FR-9525 was en route from Lublin in Poland to Stansted Airport when its radio malfunctioned over Dutch airspace.

Fighter jets from both the Netherlands and the UK were scrambled to intercept the aircraft, fearing a security issue after communication was lost.

The flight eventually landed at its destination without further incident.
