Ryanair forced to alter website after intervention by Consumer Agency

Did you ever unwittingly purchase Ryanair travel insurance? Did you almost do so?

Well, someone thought they might, so the National Consumer Agency (NCA) mediated with the airline after some concerns were raised about the manner in which Ryanair offered and presented travel insurance in their website.

The NCA found that such presentation was ‘ambiguous and unclear’, and thus could lead to the unwitting purchase of a policy.

Ryanair has now paid heed to the agency’s recommendation and has made changes to the website,  to make the terms clearer and unambiguous.

A spokesperson for the airline has said that ‘we are pleased to have positively addressed the NCA’s concerns in this matter.
