Ryanair will hold talks with union for the first time in its 32-year history

Budget airline Ryanair will meet with union representatives today. It is the first time in the airline’s 32-year history that unions are recognized.

The talks are aimed at discussing representation rights for pilots, and were agreed to avert a one-day strike action scheduled for tomorrow.

The strike was suspended, pending these talks, but pilots did make a provision to engage in industrial action if the airline does not make any meaningful effort to resolve the impasse.
