The best known sports commentator ever to see these shores, “The memory man” Jimmy Magee has sadly died aged 82.
Magee was known for his incredible ability to recall a vast array of sporting achievements and facts.
His encyclopedia-type memory gave him his nickname, a moniker he wore with great pride.
He commentated on 10 Olympic Games and 11 World Cup, arguably a feat that will never be equalled.
