Another school in the Dublin 15 area has issued a warning to parents after it became known that two schoolgirls were allegedly approached by two men in a black car last week.

Hartstown Community College has asked parents to communicate with their children about safety issues after the incident, which happened at around 8.30pm on Wednesday evening last as the girls were walking along the Hartstown Road.

This is the second such incident in Dublin 15 in the last week. Earlier on that same day, a man allegedly approached a young pupil at Scoil Mhuire Senior School in the Clonsilla area.

It is not known if both incidents are connected.

Parents are urged to highlight to their children the need to walk and stay in groups, and how to raise the alarm in case an stranger approaches them in suspicious circumstances.

Gardai are investigating both incidents.
