Unrelenting storm force winds of up to 110km/h are currently ravaging Ireland’s west coast, forcing the closure of the Cliffs of Moher and its associated amenities.
Temperatures dropped to freezing last night, and frost was widespread this morning.
The thermometer will barely rise about 4C over the weekend, while torrential rain and gale force winds will continue well into Sunday.
Sunday morning is expected to see heavy rainfall in many areas, possibly causing localised flooding.
