Scandalous: A total of 842 patients presented at Temple Street Children’s Hospital without a permanent home in 2018




The current homeless crisis has been highlighted even further as latest figures by one of the leading children’s hospital has revealed the extent of the problem especially amongst children.

According to new figures published by Temple Street Children’s Hospital, a total of 842 children who visited the hospital in 2018 were released to an unfixed address.

The alarming figures which marks a 29% increase on the previous year, showed that the vast majority of children admitted to the hospital’s A&E Department were living in an emergency accommodation.

They also revealed that a quarter of the above mentioned children were under the age of one.

Meanwhile there was a significant increase in patients attending the hospital with no fixed address on the final three months of the year.

According to figures the hospital a total of 260 children presented without a permanent home in last three months of the year.

The latest figures which have been described as unacceptable, has led to fresh calls for the issue to be addressed.
