The last remaining stitches that held the Irish health system together have now been ripped to shreds, after it emerged that more than 70 children and young adults were left to languish on trolleys over the last two weeks.
Official figures say that 73 children were placed on trolleys for extended periods of time during the first two weeks in January.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) said that placing children on trolleys is ‘simply not acceptable.’
Meanwhile, Minister for Health Simon Harris has not been seen or heard from since he uttered that ‘no effort or resource is being spared to improve the situation’ a couple of weeks back. It remains unclear what resources Mr. Harris was referring to.
