The new year has not started in a very propitious way for Minister of Health Simon Harris, as figures reveal that an astonishing 2,408 people were left to languish on trolleys across Irish hospitals this week.
This is an increase of a whooping 10% on the same period last year.
Also, it was reported yesterday that 12 children were put on trolleys.
None of the Government’s ‘initiatives’ over the last decade to ease overcrowding have achieved anything, as the situation gets worse year on year.
