Scandalous: Sixteen ambulances forced out of action due to overcrowding crisis at University Hospital Limerick

According to reports this morning it is believed that the entire HSE ambulance service for mid-west region was out of action for over an hour yesterday after they were forced to wait at emergency departments to offload patients.

The shocking revelations come after the INMO confirmed that in total 46 people were waiting for at the University Hospital Limerick.

Sources within the ambulance service say their entire fleet of sixteen ambulances were unable to respond to further calls due the backlog at the Emergency Department at the hospital.

One of the major causes of the emergency department has been put down to the fact that the hospital has to tackle emergency cases from Limerick, Tipperary and Clare.
