There’s been enormous backlash on social media after a US school principal tried to ban candy canes because she claimed the J shape could remind children of Jesus.
The Daily Mail UK reports that Jennifer Sinclair took her penchant for political correctness a little too far when she sent a memo to teachers at Manchester Elementary School in Omaha, Nebraska stating that only generic and explicitly secular decorations could be displayed.
Not only were Santa, elves, and Christmas Trees and of course any kind of Christian symbols banned but also the favourite holiday treat, candy canes, simply because it looks like a J the first letter in Jesus.
The ultra PC Principal has now been put on leave however, after it came to light came to light she did not consult school administrators on her stringent new progressive guidelines for Christmas decorations.
