More than 200 schools in Northern Ireland are to remain closed today due to heavy snowfalls making many roads impassible and far too dangerous for parents to drive on, buses to collect kids and even kids walking to school.
The north’s department of Education have advised people to check with their own individual school but more than likely up to 250 schools will all be closed again today.
Meanwhile South of the border, schools will “more than likely” open today – but again, people are advised to contact a member of the board of management or other parents to ensure that they don’t make an unnecessary trip, especially in any sort of inclement weather.
Roads are EXTREMELY treaterous this morning, specifically in bordering counties – and some schools will be closed due to snowfall and impassible roads.
It has been emphasized that it’s up to parents to be discerning and not risk bad roads if the weather is bad in your area and to share this information with other parents.
The Department has left it up to individual principals and Vice Principals as to whether their school will open.
