Second general election likely to be called this week, as water charges issue proves insurmountable

The possibility of a second general election looms larger with every passing day, as both Fine Gael and Fianna Fail remain deadlocked over the issue of water charges.

Over 60 days on from the last election, we are no closer to having a government.

After days of proposals and rejections, and Enda Kenny’s revealing attempted sell-out in exchange for a second term, the parties are set to be on an election footing.
