September 11th anniversary remembered in New York

The day that changed the world, September 11th 2001, is being remembered today at the memorial centre at the Ground Zero site at the World Trade Centre.

Some 3,000 people lost their life that fateful day when four hijacked airplanes crashed into the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and inevitably the ground in Pennsylvania.

New York City stood still for days, months and for the victims families-it’ll always stand still.

However, 13 years on and the city has bounced back. The new fully-rented Freedom Tower (aka One World Trade) is standing beside where the Trade Centres used to be. It’s higher than its predecessors and can withstand an earthquake or a plane crash. Let’s hope and pray neither needs testing.
