September will begin with warm temperatures and settled weather, according to the national forecaster

We may have reached the end of summer, but the first week of September is set to bring rather warm and settled weather conditions.

Saturday is expected to be a mild day, with good spells of sunshine. Sunday will see wet conditions across the west, but the rest of the country will remain largely dry.

An area of high pressure is settling over Ireland, so weather is expected to stay fine and mild until the middle of next week at least.
