Sitting TD’s and Senators will have their outstanding Dail bar tabs docked from their salaries if they are left unpaid.
According to RTE News, the new ruling which has been heavily backed by the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar in the past, will now see those who don’t pay their outstanding bar tab having it docked from their current salary or pension.
The new move which will eradicate the ongoing issue of bar tabs being written off as expenses, comes after the the Oireachtas Commission issued a letter to TD’s and Senators outlining details of a new credit policy.
It is expected that anyone who has an outstanding bill within the Dail bar or restaurant will have their expenses docked in June before the summer break.
