#1 iPhone 6: Latest iteration of iPhone series to be unveiled soon during launch event at Apple HQ in California. Event began at 6pm Irish time.

#2 Schumacher: Michael Schumacher finally leaves Swiss hospital. The 7-time Formula One champion has spent the last few months in a Grenoble medical facility, where he was under a medically-induced coma due to the severe head injuries he suffered in a skiing accident. Part of Schumacher’s home has been transformed into a medical care center to aid in his long journey to rehabilitation.

#3 Gardai: Human remains found at a Dublin recycling facility appear to have been dipped in acid or other corrosive substance to speed up decomposition. No positive identification has yet been possible due to the state of the body, though sources believe the remains may belong to a foreign national.

#4 Waterford: Man accused of stabbing woman to death at a Waterford psychiatric hospital is remanded in custody.

#5 Charleville: Tragic O’Driscoll brothers finally laid to rest. Younger brothers laid in coffins side by side, older brother interred separately. Community in Charleville and elsewhere mourns this most tragic event.

#6 Accident: 2-year-old toddler tragically killed in car accident at his home in Co. Galway is named locally as Tomas O’Connor. It is believed that the car was being driven by one of the toddler’s relatives when the accident happened.
