At least four people have been injured, one of them seriously, after an explosive device detonated in a St. Petersburg market this evening.
It is understood that the device, which was loaded with shrapnel, had been planted in an storage locker.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, which was described as ‘chaotic’.
Attacks of this nature are relatively common in the Russian city. Earlier this year, a suicide bomber killed 16 people inside the subway.
