A large amount of sewage water leaking from a burst main pipe has caused significant damage to a number of properties in Limerick City.
The incident began in the Bengal Terrace area of the city at around 2.30am last night. It is understood that a wall of waste water up to three feet high in places swept around the estate, causing thousands of euro worth of damage.
Emergency crews worked through the night to repair the pipe and clean up the area.
