In what locals are claiming was an extremely vicious beating, a 21-yr-old man is fighting for his life this morning after being badly beaten up in broad daylight in Limerick City yesterday afternoon.
Gardai have launched an investigation into the beating which took place in broad daylight on Maiden Street, Newcastle West, Co Limerick, shortly before 5pm.
It’s understood the 21-yr-old man is now in a very critical condition while a 20-yr-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone who was in the vicinity of Maiden Street or who can assist them with their investigation to contact them at Newcastle West Garda Station on 069 20650, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 66-611-11, or any garda station.
