Tragically a man lost his life yesterday, after being swept out to sea on a stretch of Co. Clare coastline.
The incident happened near Dunlicky Castle, a well known tourist spot. It is believed the man was a Hungarian national in his 30s. He was taking pictures near the sea when a freak wave swept him out to sea.
Emergency services were alerted by an onlooker. The man was pulled from the water alive, but sadly later died in hospital.
