An orgy of rioting, looting and violence swept the streets of Paris and other cities following France’s World Cup Final victory in Russian with at least two people dead, hundreds of cars and businesses destroyed, over 500 arrested and countless injured the UK’s Express reports.
More than 100,000 police were deployed to confront the rioters and try and stem the violence and almost 45,000 firefighters were needed to deal with fires and injuries that resulted from the mayhem.
Riots and violence continued in towns and cities across France throughout Sunday night and into Monday morning and police found themselves under attack in the capital as well as in Marseille, Bordeaux and Lyons from youths hurling missiles, starting fires and looting shops the MSN has reported.
