The HSE drafted in an ‘organisational expert’ to give a seminar over three days in a bid to help staff in one of the busiest hospitals.
Information obtained by The Irish Times under the freedom of Information Act reveal that Dr Leandro Herrero was paid €55,000 plus €4,800 in expenses for his workshop at University Hospital Limerick.
The workshop’s objective was to build staff values such as “compassion”.
On his website Dr Herrero is described as an “organisational architect” who builds “remarkable organisations”.
It continues: “Also, we don’t do misery. Pain is sometimes inevitable but misery is always a choice.”
