Shocking: Investigation underway after a 13-yr-old girl is held at knife-point and mugged in Dublin




Gardaí in Shankill have launched an investigation after a 13 year old girl was held at knifepoint and mugged on a Luas tram last week.

According to reports the young girl who had been traveling with a group of to Dundrum Town Centre was attacked by an older man and woman who were also traveling on the same tram.

It is understood the young girl was then approached by the duo and was told by the woman who held a flick knife that she would get what’s coming to her once the tram stopped.

Clearly distraught the young girl refused to get off at her stop in Bride’s Glen, which is near Cherrywood, but instead decided to contact her mother on her phone which was then taken off her by the couple who them fled the scene.

Thankfully no one was injured in the incident and the phone was later handed in to a near by shop. Meanwhile Gardaí have said they have reviewed CCTV footage have launched an investigation to track down the two individuals involved.

They have also released a description of the pair with the female being described as being aged her 20s, with long black hair and wearing a black skirt and black boots.

Whilst the male is described as being in his 20s, with short brown hair and wearing grey and navy tracksuit bottoms and runners.

Gardaí are urging anyone with any information to come forward and contact them.
