A 28-yr-old man has been jailed for three years after being sentenced to nine years with six years suspended for attempted murder and assault after he attacked a group of hiking teenagers on Montpellier Hill near the ruins of the infamous Hellfire club in South Dublin.
According to RTE, Michael Corbett was convicted of attempted murder of one of the teenagers and of assaulting two others. Mr Corbett suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and was having a psychotic episode at the time of the stabbing attack.
He had been homeless and was not taking his medication at the time and had a number of previous convictions the Irish Mirror reported.
The Hellfire Club was built on the ruins a megalithic site of human sacrifice in the 18th century by wealthy Anglo-Irish aristocracy who are believed to have held parties, orgies and satanic rituals at the club house until it was destroyed in a fire.
