A woman who was caught on camera violently shaking a baby before dropping him has been jailed for 12 days and has been given a €65 fine.
The shocking footage which has went viral, apparently shows a woman known as Ms Lou, violently handling the 10-month-old because it wouldn’t stop crying.
In the shocking footage the nanny can be seen shaking the infant and dangling it upside down, before she violently throws it on a sofa.
Although it is reported that the baby sustained no severe injuries following the incident which was captured on a nanny cam, authorities in Changsha, Hunan Province, China, prosecuted the woman after the baby’s mother handed the footage into police.
It is not known what caused Ms Lou to act violently towards the infant, but it is alleged that she lost her temper as the baby whose gender is not known wouldn’t stop crying.
Ms Lou was given a custodial sentence of 12 days and a fine of fined 500 RMB.
However she could face further punishment as authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
