A vicious thug left a pensioner in a critical condition in hospital, after a savage attack in County Limerick on Sunday evening.
The woman, aged in her 80s, was set upon as she was returning home from the local bingo hall. The perpetrator grabbed her as she was opening the front door and dragged her around the garden as he attempted to snatch her handbag, which contained about €20. The man eventually fled the area with the handbag.
Emergency services were soon at the scene, and rushed the woman to University Hospital in Limerick, where she remains in a critical condition.
The individual who carried out the savage robbery is also the main suspect in a similar attack
that took place in Limerick city days earlier.
