Showdown at US High: President Trump suggests that teachers should bear concealed firearms to deal with shooting rampages

As the United States still reels from the latest mass shooting episode in Trump’s America, the President has now suggested that ‘specially trained’ teachers and other staff should bear concealed firearms to deal with any threats.

The comments were made in the wake of the Florida massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 people were gunned down by 19-year-old ex-pupil Nikolas Cruz.

The President also suggested to get rid of Gun-Free Zones so that anyone can carry weapons into school at any time.

The US Congress passed the Gun-Free School Zones act in 1990, specifically prohibiting any unauthorized individual from knowingly possessing a loaded or unsecured firearm at a place that the individual knows, or has reasonable cause to believe, is a school zone.

Mr. Trump, nevertheless, now wants to do away with such safety net and arm all and sundry.
