Sickening: Investigation underway after a DOG is set on fire in Cork City

An investigation is underway after a dog was set on fire in Cork City.

According to The Irish Mirror newspaper, the investigation into the horrific incident comes after the badly burnt remains of the dog were found in The Glen area of Cork City.

Although it is not known whether or not the dog was set on fire before or after its death, shocking images of the dog’s remains shared on social media have been described as horrific.

It is understood the Cork Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (CSPA) are investigating the incident and say they are shocked at what had occurred.

They also say identifying the dog is proving difficult as the dog’s microchip is most likely to have been destroyed in the fire.

The CSPA are appealing for anyone with any information to come and contact them or the Gardai.
