Simon Harris says the Irish Health Service will be there to fully support Ibrahim Halawa if he gets back to Ireland

It really does beggar belief, how many thousand people are on the streets in this country and 30-yr-old Minister for Health Simon Harris has pledged the entire Health Service’s facilities and support to Ibrahim Halawa – a man who is on trial for his involvement in the Muslim Brotherhood.

Halawa is in jail in Egypt after he left Ireland to get involved in the Muslim Brotherhood protests in Cairo in August 2013.

Allegedly Halawa showed his Egpytian passport in Egpyt claiming he was Egyptian, not Irish.

Allegedly a short time later, a video emerged of Halawa burning his Irish passport and seemingly ripping up the tricolor. Again allegedly, his sisters are said to have done their utmost to get the video taken offline but this has not been confirmed.

Many social media users claim they saw the video and that Halawa did indeed burn his Irish passport and renounce any connection to Ireland.

Meanwhile, Simon Harris said that his entire department will be at the beck and call for Halawa should he need any checks in relation to his health if he returns to Ireland.
