Singer and human rights activist Sinead O’Connor has revealed that she has officially changed her name after she converted to Islam.
Ms O’Connor who will now be now known as Shuhada Davitt, confirmed the news via a tweet.
The singer who was once an ordained priest with the Catholic Church, told her followers that she is proud to have converted to Islam.
In the tweet the singer said the following: “This is to announce that I am proud to have become a Muslim. This is the natural conclusion of any intelligent theologian’s journey.”
“All scripture study leads to Islam. Which makes all other scriptures redundant. I will be given (another) new name. It will be Shuhada.”
