Singer and The Partridge Family actor David Cassidy sadly dies aged 67

According to reports in the US this morning, popular singer and actor David Cassidy has sadly aged 67.

Cassidy who is best remembered for his smooth vocal style and his acting role in the Partridge Family, sadly passed away on Tuesday in a Florida hospital.

The news of the stars death was confirmed by his publicist JoAnn Geffen who released the following statement on behalf of Cassidy’s family: “On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy.”

“David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”

Cassidy’s death comes just days after the star was admitted to hospital with organ failure.

The “I think I Love You” singer also revealed earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with dementia.
