Sinn Fein supporters who are voting No claim Mary Lou flip flopped by saying she’s Pro Life

Sinn Fein’s relatively new leader Mary Lou McDonald performed very badly last night on Claire Byrne Live, according to social media users.

The 49-yr-old appeared somewhat out of her depth when the nitty gritty of the debate got underway and she wasn’t getting support from the audience.

Having stumbled a number of answers, eventually Mary Lou said she was Pro Life – something that Sinn Fein supporters who are voting No claims she flipflopped on.

One Sinn Fein supporter posted:
“Either Mary Lou is Pro Life or Pro Abortion, there is no in between”.

While another said:
“If Mary Lou was Pro Life why didn’t she give a free vote to the party? It’s a total flip flop and she has done herself no favours”.

Others queried whether she was fit for the job and that her own political career may be in the firing line should the referendum be defeated on May 25th.

The country will be asked on whether you want the Eighth Amendment appealed by voting yes or keeping an unborn Irish baby’s right to life by voting No.

Currently the Eighth Amendment is the only protection unborn Irish babies have from abortion. Polls open at 7am on May 25th.
