Speaking at an Easter commemoration in Belfast’s Milltown cemetery, yesterday, Sinn Féin’s deputy leader Michelle O’Neill said: “Ending partition has now taken on a new dynamic because of Brexit…”
According to RTE News, the relatively new deputy leader wants to see a unity referedum within the next five years – something unheard of even up until this year.
O’Neill thinks Ireland could see a unification of both North and South before 2023.
“Because Brexit exposes the undemocratic nature of partition.
“Sinn Fein believes there should be a referendum vote on Irish unity within the next five years,” she said.
