Sir Richard Branson has confirmed that a prototype of Virgin’s Hyperloop transport system will be ready for testing in 2021.
Hyperloop One is a land vehicle designed to ferry passengers at almost aircraft-like speeds. It will theoretically achieve his by frictionless movement on electromagnets, reaching speeds of up to 670km/h. while traveling inside a low pressure tube.
Sir Richard Branson has said that the first Hyperloop line will link the cities of Mumbai and Pune, with a travel time of just 25 minutes, cutting three hours from the current journey.
Once the line is up, it’s expected to move up to 150 million passengers a year.
