Singer and founding member of the hit R&B vocal group Sister Sledge, Joni Sledge has sadly passed away aged 60.
According to reports in the US, the soul singer was found dead in her home in Phoenix on Friday.
In a brief statement her publicist Bill Warren said The Sledge family was shocked by her death as she had not been ill.
The cause of her death is not yet known.
