Snow and ice warnings as heavy snowfall predicted tomorrow

It’s going to be a cold and frosty day tomorrow, Thursday, with heavy snowfall forecast in some areas of the country.

Met Eireann has issued Orange and Yellow weather warnings due to snow and ice formation.

An Orange Weather warning will kick in at midnight tonight for counties Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo, and will remain in place until 11pm on Thursday. Snow accumulations of 40mm to 80mm are expected to occur.

Meanwhile, a Yellow Weather warning has been issued for Longford, Cavan, Monaghan, Galway and Roscommon for the same period. Snow accumulations of between 20mm and 40mm are predicted for these counties.
