Hard to believe as it might be after the recent weather bonanza, Met Eireann has forecast ‘wet snow’ and sleet for parts of Ireland tomorrow, Monday.

Some areas of Ulster and Connacht are expected to be blighted by an unseasonable cold spell.

Daytime temperatures today will range between 8-12C, while tonight they will sink as low as -1C, with frost expected.

Monday is expected to be a cold and blustery day, with widespread showers particularly affecting Connacht, Ulster and west Munster. Wintry showers are expected for the west and northwest, with some “wet snow” expected to affect lower levels in the region.

Daytime temperatures will range between 6 and 9C, but the wind chill factor will make it feel colder.

Things will improve somewhat on Tuesday, with temperatures increasing to about 11C. There will however be outbreaks of rain across the country.

Wednesday then will be another cold and wet day, with highs of 6 to 10C.
