Snow warning: Met Eireann confirm Ireland will see its first SNOW tonight

As temperatures plummet this week, it appears everyone’s favourite winter weather, snow, could well be on its way.

According to the national forecaster, Met Eireann, flurries of sleet and so-called “wet snow” may well start to fall early this evening as temperatures drop well below zero.

The inclement weather will come in from the west with precipitation falling at first but Met Eireann says has a very strong possibilty of turning to sleet and “wet snow”, especially in areas of Connacht, Midlands and Ulster.

Temperatures are currently around 1c and will drop to below 0 before the end of the night going into the small hours of tomorrow morning.
