Snow Warning: Met Eireann say Ireland will experience blizzard like conditions over the next 24 hours




According to reports this evening the country is set to see snowy and icy conditions over the next 24 hours.

The state’s national forecaster Met Eireann have said Ireland will be hit artic winds that will see temperatures plummet from Thursday morning until Friday.

The forecaster has since issued two weather warnings for Ulster, Leinster and north Munster, with blizzard like conditions expected in the north of the country.

Both a yellow and orange weather warning status has been issued for Leinster and Ulster respectively until Friday evening until 6pm.
It is expected the North West will experience the worst of the weather, with counties Leitrim, Donegal, Sligo and Mayo expected to see blizzard like conditions during the day and severe ice overnight.

Meanwhile snowfall and frosty conditions are expected in Leinster and north Munster throughout Thursday night, whilst temperatures are expected to reach no higher than 2C-3C.
