Social media users have been debating late last night and again today about how Peter Casey would be President if Michael D Higgins had kept his promise on being a one-term only President.
He “changed his mind” and ran for a second term gaining mid 50s in support and getting a second term.
The main story however appears to Peter Casey’s incredible campaign that appears to have garnered him some 21% of the vote.
Free speech activist Peter Casey gripped so many “ordinary people” with his honesty and how he spoke his mind.
Considering the other candidates are so far behind the top two, it now appears as though Peter would indeed be President if Higgins had stuck to his promise in 2011.
There are calls for Peter to enter politics in a different sphere to the Presidency. We’ll wait and see.
